What a Thursday in June!
Last Thursday the store owner Jon went out with all of his new mum and dad friends, some of whom have never ridden an E-Bike before. It was also the first time some of the little ones had been on a bike, making it one for the memory bank. The E-Bikes were very well received, bringing smiles to everyone’s faces, and making the trip seem easy and swift. With children around the age of 1, the wake windows are pretty short!
Jon lead this family bike ride up to Bolderwood, where they all had a picnic in the sun, and an ice cream from the new ‘Norths Trailside Cafe’. This is a new addition to the New Forest, these guys are at Bolderwood and Blackwater car parks. They are opening all year round and serve New Forest Ice Cream along with hot and cold drinks and cakes. Just what the wild parts of the Forest need!
The Deer Sanctuary route was followed, and this stop is about 6 miles in. They rode the Cube Electric Bikes with various child attachments, most favouring the child seat as all of the children were around 1 years old. These are the most enjoyable for the kids, and easy enough to balance for the parents. The Burley Bee trailer buggies were well received too, meaning that couples could take the picnic blankets, and plenty of food and child care spares. There are toilets up at the Bolderwood Car park too, so no worries regarding baby changing facilities.
This ride took about and one and a half hours in total, with an hour stop on top. That is with E-Bikes though so you average about 10 mph! Jon’s wife made an awesome reel of the whole day out, check it out over on our instagram here;
