Everybody knows that E bikes are a major part in the future of cycling. People used to say it wasn’t proper cycling, it was cheating but as they have become more common and easily accessible to a wider community those previous critics have been silenced.
We have always seen how popular they are via our cycle hire demands, so we’ve expanded with the growth of E Bikes to keep up with the demand and growing technology around them. Running a popular hire centre as well as a retail shop we have really seen the rate of which they have grown! We now run a total of 40 E Bikes in our hire fleet along with 70% of our retail sales being E bikes.

Cube Reaction Hybrid ONE 600

The Reaction Hybrid ONE is the main Electric Mountain Bike that we run in the fleet, we have been using this model since 2017 and just updated them each year when the new one is released. They are hard wearing, reliable and a lot of fun! What more do you want from an electric hardtail mountain bike. These are available to take out into the forest for the day to really see what they can do.

The Nuride Hybrid Performance is the main comfort E-Bike that we run in our fleet, this is the first year we are using this model, however it is very similar to the Touring Hybrid we have been using since 2017. The main reason for switching is a slightly sturdier rack on the back to make childseats more secure. They are hard wearing, reliable and very comfortable across washboard gravel tracks. They are such versatile bikes that are made to suit any rider with their different frame shapes. These are available to hire out for a day and really see how comfortably you can cruise around the New Forest.

The Kathmandu Hybrid One is our premium comfort E-bike, sitting just above the Nuride and Touring with a more powerful motor and a slightly larger battery. Very similar in feel to the Nuride — upright, comfortable and versatile — but with that extra punch when you need it.

These guys really are excellent!!. Hired 4 e bikes and had an amazing day cycling around thier well planned trails! Oh combining with an excellent pub stop at the trusty servant inn ! Various routes of varying length & difficulty available with tracks primarily off road & on well marked gravel / tarmac paths. Helmet included in cost of bike hire - £25/adult. Very helpful and friendly staff. Booking, collection and return was easy. We hired a Cube e-bike, and it was excellent quality - totally capable of everything we needed it for. High capacity battery meant we didn't even use 50% of it all day (32 miles). Free parking at the top of the hill near the cricket ground / school. Thanks very much!
FAQ's
No need to worry! Our electric bikes are designed to offer both pedal-assist and full manual riding modes. In the event that your battery runs out, the bike will still work without friction. You can seamlessly transition to traditional pedalling, just like you would on a regular bike, ensuring that your journey can continue without interruption. That being said, we fully expect a phone call so that we can try and exchange your battery on the trail. We know that our bikes do at least 50 miles within the New Forest tracks, so this is something that has never occurred in 6 years.

Absolutely! Our rental prices are all-inclusive, covering a comprehensive set of equipment to enhance your biking adventure. This includes helmets for safety, a convenient backpack for your belongings, a reliable pump for tyre maintenance, a sturdy lock for security, a toolkit for minor adjustments, and access to our mobile mechanic backup service. We strive to ensure that you have everything you need for a seamless and enjoyable experience as you explore the scenic beauty of the New Forest on our premium electric bikes.
Just like a regular bike, it goes as fast as you can make it go! What sets E-Bikes apart is their acceleration. They can accelerate quite quickly, especially when in Turbo mode from a standing start. So our advice is to use Eco or Tour when setting off. E-Bikes within the UK are restricted to only assisting the rider up until 15.6 mph, anything beyond that will be from your own steam. With our hire and demo bikes, there is still a need to pedal as they do not have a throttle.
Most of our E-Bikes within the Fleet are the large 600wh batteries, capable of covering 70 miles+ on a single charge. That being said, if used only in turbo mode and in the hardest gear you will only achieve about 20 miles. It is all relative to the way the gears are used, inline with the assistance modes, alongside the weight of the rider and the conditions of the terrain. Our Stereo demo bike has a huge 800Wh battery which allows it to go even further, allowing for as much as 90 miles!
